Thanks to our community partners and sponsors for helping fill the FEAST food pantry truck at the December to Remember event.
More than 400 pounds of food were collected during the holidays in a food drive started by the Greater Palm Harbor’s YMCA Middle School students.
Donations for the FEAST food pantry were collected at the Y branch during the holidays. In addition, they collected donations at their annual Breakfast with Santa event, A December to Remember. They collected about 2,600 pounds of food that day.
“This tremendous amount of food will allow us to feed nearly 435 people in our community,” says Tamara Black, FEAST president, Advisory Council & YMCA Suncoast Board member.
Pre-COVID-19, FEAST was serving about 1,000 people in the Palm Harbor and surrounding communities. During the pandemic, they are currently serving nearly 3,000 people monthly. The Greater Palm Harbor YMCA’s Before/Afterschool Middle School students teamed up with Feast Food Pantry as part of their community service curriculum.
A special shout out to Sunrise Irrigation & Sprinkles and the Greater Palm Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce for big deliveries of non-perishable food items to help fill the FEAST food pantry truck at the December to Remember event.
