Enhance their Potential

Help your child bridge the achievement gap and reach their full potential. Taking a break from learning during the summer months can cause kids to start the new school year off unprepared. The summer program enhances students' skills in reading, writing, math and science.

The Y Scholars Learning Academy will help advance students' academic achievement through a full-day summer experience that combines small group, rigorous academic instruction with fun, hands-on enrichment activities, field trips and service projects. Scholars must have attended Gulfside or Sunray Elementary schools, in Pasco County, and have been referred by their teacher.

The Y Scholars Learning Academy is a partnership between the Y and the national nonprofit BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life), doesn’t just tackle summer learning loss—it builds strong youth, academically, physically, and emotionally. The program partners with local schools to support K-8 students in literacy, math, enrichment activities in STEM and the arts, along with a health curriculum.
