WHAT IS SmartStart? Our program is a series of three personalized appointments, 30 to 60 minutes long, designed to support you in pursuit of your health and wellness goals. A SmartStart specialist will meet with you to discuss your needs and interests and together you will develop a plan for success.

WHAT IT’S NOT
Your appointments are not a series of cookie-cutter workouts or a one-size-fits-all program; it is customized to meet your needs.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Everyone! Whether you’re new to exercise, have dabbled in it your whole life, or are comfortable in your regular program, we will help you make the most of your Y membership. The SmartStart experience is an opportunity for us to work together to create your personalized road map for success.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT
Members who attend their first SmartStart appointment within the first two weeks of joining the Y are six times more likely to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. Let’s ensure you’re one of them!

WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT
SESSION 1: PLAN During the first session, we’ll talk about your goals and interests and help you get started on a plan with confidence and support.

SESSION 2: ACT Whether it’s attending your first group fitness class, meeting with a member of our aquatics team or learning how to use equipment in the wellness center, whatever you decide, this is where your plan takes action!

SESSION 3: EVALUATE We want to hear how it’s going for you. We’ll review your progress, provide additional guidance, and adjust the plan as needed to ensure you’re well on your way to meeting your goals.

But wait — there’s more! To help motivate you along the way, you’ll enjoy the following incentives upon completion of both
sessions two and three.

SESSION TWO: One-week guest pass for a friend
SESSION THREE: $25 in Y Bucks to apply to any program or service.

Ask yourself…
As you prepare for your first session, ask yourself the following questions:
• What are your goals?
• Why are they important to you?
• What has helped you be successful in the past?
• What tends to get in your way?
