EnhanceFitness is an evidence-based group exercise program that uses simple, easy-to-learn movements that motivate individuals with arthritis to stay active throughout their life. EnhanceFitness participants overcome the obstacles of living with arthritis and revitalize their well-being within a safe community of support. Individuals in the EnhanceFitness program experience improved physical strength, increased flexibility, better balance, enhanced cardiovascular fitness, and reduced arthritic pain which leads to empowered independent living for people with arthritis.
Instructors of EnhanceFitness learn the researched-based foundations of the EnhanceFitness program and the required components and exercises through group discussion, EnhanceFitness class demonstrations, and hands-on learning experiences. Instructors learn how to successfully lead an EnhanceFitness class to ensure program fidelity and participant success in the program. Because EnhanceFitness is an evidence based program, there are specific data requirements that must be followed by each Y offering the program. In order to meet these requirements, Instructors must also become registered users of the Online Data Entry System (ODES) and enter participant information into the system, per training provided by Y-USA.
All participants must also register for this course through the YMCA Exchange Learning and Career Development Center (LCDC) before the first day of class. Click here to Register: https://lcdc.yexchange.org/Management/Class/RosterDetails/261156
Supervisors please note: The fee for this training will be processed as a journal transfer to the GL account provided by the branch.
