More than a dozen companies from around the Tampa Bay area will take a break from the office on Saturday, October 12th.

WHAT: More than a dozen companies from around the Tampa Bay area will take a break from the office on Saturday, October 12th to enjoy a fun day of team-building and networking while supporting the YMCAs of Tampa Bay at its inaugural Corporate Cup Challenge, the premier “adult field day."

This one-of-a-kind Olympic-style co-ed team-building, opponent-taunting, skills-flaunting event promotes health and wellness in the workplace for local companies and organizations. Activities include obstacle courses, team-building challenges, climbing wall, and inflatable challenges. As many as 225 participants have the opportunity to sign up to compete for a trophy and "bragging rights!"

“The Corporate Cup Challenge helps employees know they’re helping others in the community because 100 percent of the proceeds go back out into the community, so individuals and families who want to participate at their local Y are never turned away due to the inability to pay,” said G. Scott Goyer, President/CEO of the YMCA of the Suncoast.

The YMCAs of Tampa Bay would like to thank our presenting sponsor; LEMA Construction and additional sponsors to include the Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco County Sheriff’s Offices and BayCare Health System. Participating Y associations include the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCAYMCA of the SuncoastYMCA of Greater St. Petersburg

Our judges include Spectrum Bay News 9’s Emmy nominated journalist Roy De Jesus, who helped create Chef's Kitchen, a weekly cooking segment which brought the cameras inside some of Tampa Bay's and Central Florida’s finest restaurants. When Roy isn't anchoring or reporting for the station, he is cooking and spending time with his family. Another one of our prestigious judges include food and wine editor Joyce LaFray. She is one of the country's foremost food experts and has been the food editor of Creative Loafing and contributor to Bon Appetit and Where magazine.
