YMCA Giving Tree

Partners with Raymond James & Associates Clearwater

Each YMCA of the Suncoast locations is focused on the community they serve. This time of year, one of our favorite traditions to serve our communities is to partner those who want to help with those in need, through our Giving Tree program.

The Giving Tree is decorated with ornaments that have a child’s name, age and a gift wish from that child. The ornaments are available for members, staff, and volunteers to select and purchase the gift for that child.

The team at Raymond James and Associates of Clearwater came together to be “Santa Claus” for many children that may not have anything else on Christmas morning without their generosity. Kim Briggs of Raymond James and Associates serves on the YMCA of the Suncoast board and brought this opportunity to her team when they were looking for some way to make the holiday season extra special. Kim shared, “We have supported the program for a couple of years. Our staff has taken their Santa duties very seriously. They have really went the extra mile to seek out and find the item(s) that the child requested.”

The whole branch at Raymond James Clearwater rallied behind this holiday program. Christina Clous, one of the Client Services Associates at Raymond James has even offered her gift wrapping skills. Some have chosen to wrap their own presents, but for those that need a little help she has taken on the task to make each package extra special.

All of the gifts are brought to the YMCA location (by December 9) where the giver choose the ornament. From the Y, the gifts are distributed to the families. Overall, approximately xxx children will receive a gift from one of our very generous Secret Santas.
