A membership at the Y goes much further than the gym.
When you become a member of the YMCA, you are joining more than a gym, you are joining a community. The offerings of the Y go much further than what is expected by most people. At the Y, we offer a wealth of opportunity for our members, with nearly never ending benefits. In order to make the most out of your time with the Y, branching out from initial expectations is a must.
1. Take Advantage of Your 3 FREE Wellness Orientations- We love when our members strive to lead a healthy life and we want to help. Everyone who joins the Y gets three, entirely free, sessions with their own membership/wellness coach. Together, you develop a program that is tailored specifically to you. Whether its finding the group exercise programs, swimming classes or working out in the wellness center; take advantage of this from the start!
2. Gain a Workout Buddy and $25- Working out is always more fun when you have a partner to keep you motivated. When you refer a friend to the Y, you will receive $25 Y Bucks once they join. Y Bucks can be used towards any Y-related purchase you might have in the future. Summer Camp, personal training, you name it!
3. Busy Parents, Take a Break!- The Y has a number of childcare opportunities, many of which are completely free to members! If you need an hour or two to squeeze in your workout, drop your child off at the kid zone. If date-night has been a long time coming, take advantage of the number of “Parent's Night Out” and “Parent's Morning Out” events, put on by each of our branches. Don't forget about summer camp! Your kids are bound to have the best summer ever when they spend their days at YMCA summer camps.
4. Escape the Heat and Take a Dip- In addition to the competition pools where the Y is busy training the Olympians of tomorrow, the Y also offers a family-friendly swimming environment. Taking up the opportunity to cool off in the pool with family and friends is a no-brainer in the sweltering Florida heat.
5. Take Advantage of the Free Group Exercise Classes- Working out in a group always does wonders for your physical motivation. Try your hand at yoga, cycling, BodyPump and a number of other classes available for free to our members! Not only will you learn new skills, but you’ll be getting in shape and find yourself one step closer to a healthier life!
6. Make Friends- Whether it is at the gym, by the pool or in the day care center, it is practically impossible to not make friends at the Y. We have worked hard to create a community that is full of friendly and welcoming faces and place great importance on strengthening the community that we live in. Be prepared when you join the Y to become a member of a close-knit and caring community; what some consider a second family.
