The Y’s James P. Gills Family YMCA and Feeding Tampa Bay have been partnering since April to feed needy families in the community.
A partnership that began during the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic to feed needy families continues to grow - feeding more than 5,500 households.
The James P. Gills Family YMCA in Trinity started a partnership with Feeding Tampa Bay back in April, acting as a weekly distribution site, while its branch temporarily closed due to COVID. The weekly distribution continues today.
Here are the latest impact numbers from October:

“The fact that this partnership has continued for seven months shows the commitment to feed hungry families in communities that need it the most,” says Julio Vega, YMCA of the Suncoast District Vice President.
Staff and volunteers hand out pre-packaged boxes of food every Monday from 12-1pm at Y located at 8411 Photonics Drive. Thank you to Feeding Tampa Bay for their continued support and partnership!
