Every year, thousands of teachers and students find themselves relying on free school supplies from generous donors, in order to take full advantage of the educational opportunities in front of them. This year, the YMCA of the Suncoast wants to make sure that every student and every teacher has the chance to get the most out of their education. From July 25– August 8, you can join the Y with no join fee, if you bring along new school supplies to donate to children and teachers who need them. Already a member? Donate anyway and help kids get ready to achieve.
Donating school supplies lessens the burden that many students and teachers face. Many cannot afford traditional school supplies and have no alternative way to receive them.
We want to ensure the continuing education of every student, regardless of the financial situation that they may currently be facing. If you’d like to donate, but you are at a loss when it comes to what to bring, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Here's some of the most needed school supplies:
No. 2 Pencils
Loose Leaf Notebook Paper
Spiral-bound or Composition Notebooks
Folders
Three-ring Binders
Erasers
Rulers
Highlighters
Calculators (yes, they still use them!)
Index Cards

When you donate school supplies to children in need, you are helping kids succeed and helping to build a better future for everyone. Although the no join fee between July 25-August 8 when you donate is pretty great, you don’t have to join the Y in order to help kids achieve.
If you are already a member just stop by your local YMCA and tell them you have school supplies that you’d like to share with the community.
