YMCA of the Suncoast Legacy Club

Throughout our lifetimes, most of us strive to make a difference in the lives of others, providing gifts to the people and causes we value. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that you could continue to change lives even after you are gone, creating a legacy of support for the causes most important to you? By creating an endowment with our organization, or adding to our existing endowment, you can give a gift that lasts forever.

A Gift that Lasts Forever

Establishing a Named Fund

Families or individuals may name a fund at $25,000 or more. This is payable over time, or at one time through a gift of cash or stock.

Gift Designations

The Legacy Club was created to provide financial assistance to friends and neighbors in the community who cannot afford YMCA programs or service. However, the YMCA of the Suncoast has specific options to which you can designate your funds:

  1. Undesignated for highest needs at the time
  2. For use at a specific branch
  3. For facility improvements
  4. For high-priority programs identified by the board of directors

Stories from Legacy Club Members

John Geigle headshot wearing sunglasses

When YMCA member John Geigle was planning for his financial future, he knew he wanted to make an impact in his community and support a cause that meant a lot to him. For John, this meant generous gift to the North Pinellas YMCA, which has been renamed by the John Geigle YMCA.

"I want to see and enjoy the impact that I can make by giving a donation to a charity that has not only been a part of my life, but a part of my family and friends' lives too. Giving this donation now means I get to see the kids, the families, the vets, the single moms and dads, the grandparents raising their grandchildren and people with disabilities...all being impacted in such a positive way. The Y can help make a difference in these people's lives. Body. Mind. Spirit."

Donors like John allow us to continue to offer programs that create a lasting change in the communities we serve.

Camp COAST is a summer day camp specifically for children who are neurodivergent, which provides a comfortable, safe, fun and nurturing environment. Camp COAST is designed to meet the needs of children between the ages of 5-10 (Camp COAST JR) and 11-16 (Camp COAST Middle) who are considered high functioning on the autism spectrum.

Peter and Paula Vosotas established a Legacy Endowment Fund with the YMCA that will provide scholarships to at-risk families so that children in need will have the opportunity to attend camp regardless of their ability to pay.

“Grayson is hardly ever excited about anything. However, this year he has been loving camp and is so happy to go every day. We are so thankful for Camp Coast,” says Rachel Jennings.

In addition to daily summer camp activities, campers attend weekly field trips to places all around the Tampa Bay area. A Pinellas County school bus is used to transport all children to and from any activities that occur off YMCA property, providing an enriching experience, along the lines of traditional summer camps.

The YMCA of the Suncoast Endowment Fund transforms gifts from caring individuals and families into meaningful and lasting positive change for our community. Learn more about how you can make a bigger impact than you may have thought possible.
