4 Ways to Start the School Year Right
Parents, get ready! It’s that time of year again. As a new school year approaches, now is the perfect time to plan for a painless transition. Here are a few tips to help you get started.
Sign Up for Before- and After-School Care.
Many working families need safe and affordable before- and after-school care for their children. Why not sign up for one of the Y’s School Age Programs? The Y provides a fun, engaging and educational environment for Pre-K through 8th-grade children during the hours when many parents need to work.
Explore Teen Leadership Programs.
Is your teen looking to make new friends, learn a new skill or be active in the community? Contact your local branch to find out about available Teen Leadership programs. These opportunities focus on leadership training, personal growth and social development.
Give Back through the Y’s School Supply Drive.
The beginning of the school year can be a financial burden for many families. While you’re shopping for school supplies, ask your child to choose a few for a child in need. Then stop by a YMCA of the Suncoast branch on your way home to drop off your donation. Your son or daughter will feel the pleasure of giving back while helping a local family.
Don’t Forget about Youth Sports.
Help your kids stay as active as they were during the summer by keeping the Y in their fall routine. Join one of our sports leagues, gymnastics or swimming programs.
